Born out of necessity we extended the back of the pub to improve the kitchen and lavatory facilities back in 1997 and thought what the heck lets stick a restaurant on as well. It is called Squiffy’s because our beautiful Auntie Gwen used to say to Janes Mum, after a nice meal and a few drinks with family and friends “Oh Ruby I do feel Squiffy” and it’s always been associated with good times of just enough of everything and everyone you love.
Enter Vinny and 25 years later we are still together, we’ve been through a bit together in business and our personal lives and not quite sure when it happened but Vinny is our family and will always be so.
Our A-la-cart menu at the start was changed daily depending on produce availability and looking back over previous menus the range of cuisine we offered was amazing. Then one Summer we tried our “Squiffy’s Summer of Tapas” menu and as we say the rest is History! We also run a more regular menu alongside this to hopefully be family friendly for all ages. We have an eclectic offering of wines and the all-weather adapting Patio area makes for a Mediterranean feel of dining and socialising in Hampton!
